Motor Claim

Dry claim is a claim for damage caused to the vehicle after the accident has occurred for a while. Often, it is referred as a claim without a third party such as hitting a wall, footpath, tree, or an electric pole, or a small scratch on the car. Dry claim is usually a minor damage without third party involved.

Guidance for claimants

When an accident occurs, please notify us immediately at our ‘Hotline’ at 1292 (a 24-hour service nationwide)

Details to be reported:

  • Car registration number
  • Insurance policy number or the name of the insured
  • Name and phone number of the driver and the claimant
  • Date, time and exact location of the accident, as well as landmarks nearby
  • Details of the accident

After contacting us, please proceed as follows:

  • Wait for a claim officer to arrive; and follow instructions given by ‘One Number, One Call Center’ customer service staff;
  • Do not move your car, except in the following cases:
  • Instructed by the police officer to do so;
  • The fault has been determined with the evidence;
  • If the car must be moved, please notify us.
  • Do not agree to any settlement or liability unless instructed or approved by us.
  • In case someone is injured, please call a nearby hospital immediately to transfer the injured person, then notify us.
  • Take your car to our contracted garages for repair at your convenience (see the list of the Company’s contracted garages in Section “List of Contracted Garages”).
  • Contact us if you have further inquiries and follow advice given.

In case of being at fault

  • Do not leave the scene of the accident as it may result in criminal charges.
  • If, for some reason, you cannot contact us by phone, please proceed as follows:
  • Make an appointment with the party involved in the accident to meet at a later date.
  • Write an admission of fault note for the other party, so that they can contact us after you have notified us of the accident.
  • The admission of fault note should contain the following details:
  • Full name, contact address, and phone number of the party at fault;
  • The date, time and exact location of the accident;
  • The car registration numbers of parties involved;
  • The statement admitting fault and details of the damage;
  • The note should be signed in the presence of witnesses.

In case fault is not yet determined:

  • If the liable party’s car is insured, please ask the person to contact their insurance company.
  • If the liable party does not admit fault, take note of the car’s brand, model, color, registration number and province.
  • Do not move the cars until a police officer arrives at the scene, or the other party admits to fault by writing an admission of fault note.
  • If the other party flees the scene, report full details of the accident on record to the police officer, do not report only the evidence. Provide as much details of the other car as possible.

In case of any damage to personal belongings in the car, make a record with the police as these claims will have to be made directly by you.

  • Call us immediately.

In case a settlement cannot be reached regarding fault, please proceed as follows:

  • Contact the police to mark the scene of the accident, then move the cars away from the scene.
  • Notify us immediately.

In case of an emergency making it impossible to report a claim immediately, proceed as follows:

  • Complete the ‘Collision’ claim form Knock For Knock
  • Make an appointment to meet with the other liable party later

In case of the insured’s car is involved in a ‘hit-and-run’

  • Make a report at the local police station. If you know the liable party’s car registration number, report this for legal proceeding.

In case of your car is lost or stolen:

  • Call the Lost Car hotline at 1192
  • Call the Center for Auto and Motorcycle Crime Suppression line at 0-2205-2590-3
  • Report the loss to us via One Number One Call Center at 0-2657-2999
  • Report to the local police station where the car was lost or stolen.
  • If you have any clue about your car’s whereabouts, please inform us immediately (the Company will keep your information confidential) and submit any information and evidence which can be used for investigation and making a claim.

Negotiation for Damage

  • You can make a claim at our head office or at any branch nationwide by proceeding as follows:
  • Bring your damaged car to the company for claim assessment. In case the damaged car cannot be driven, notify us in advance so that we can arrange for a surveyor to assess the damage and repair costs or assess the damage from pictures taken at the scene of the accident.
  • Take your car for repair at one of the Company’s contracted garages.

Documents Required for Claim Consideration

  • The insured, beneficiary, or eligible claimant

Documents Required:

  • A proxy is required in case the insured, beneficiary, or eligible claimant is unable to make direct contact.
  • Repair and spare parts quotations.
  • A damage report (our company’s form) or from the party involved.
  • In case of collateral damages, check for damages directly resulting from the accident by reviewing photos, if photos are unclear, ask the party involved to bring in the vehicle for inspection and take photos of the damages, or have photos taken by the other party and send them in for review.
  • A copy each of the vehicle registration, insurance policy and ID card.

Review Time Period:

  • Damages less than Baht 50,000.00: A report on the result will be provided within 5 working days from the complete documents received date.
  • Damages between Baht 50,000.00 –100,000.00: A report on the result will be provided within 15 working days from the complete documents received date.
  • Damages between Baht 100,000.00 –200,000.00: A report on the result will be provided within 20 working days from the complete documents received date.
  • Damages exceeding Baht 200,00: A report on the result will be provided within 30 working days from the complete documents received date.

1. In case of vehicle total loss, missing vehicle, fire loss in full

Documents Required:

  • A proxy is required in case the insured, beneficiary, or eligible claimant is unable to make direct contact.
  • Repair and spare parts quotations.
  • File a damage report (use a company’s form) or from the party involved. There is no need for this form in case of missing vehicle.
  • In case of collateral damages, check for damages directly resulting from the accident by reviewing photos, if photos are unclear, ask the party involved to bring in the vehicle for inspection and take photos of the damages, or have photos taken by the other party and send them in for review. There is no need for this process in case of missing vehicle.
  • A copy of the police report certified by the attending officer. In case of missing vehicle, this report must be submitted.

Review Time Period:

  • In case of vehicle total loss: A report on the result will be provided within 30 working days from the complete documents received date.
  • In case of missing vehicle: A report on the result will be provided within 45 working days from the complete documents received date.

2. Medical expense, loss of organs, permanent disabilities, loss of life

Reimbursement for medical expenses:

  • A copy of the injured person’s ID card.
  • Original receipt of the medical expenses.
  • Doctor’s certificate.
  • A copy of the police report on the case certified by the attending officer.

Reimbursement for loss of organs, sight, or permanent disabilities:

  • A copy of the injured person’s ID card.
  • A copy of the house registration of the injured.
  • Original receipt of the medical expenses.
  • Doctor’s certificate.
  • A copy of the police report certified by the attending officer.

Reimbursement for funeral:

  • A copy of the person’s ID card.
  • A copy of the person’s house registration.
  • A copy of the heir’s ID card (signed).
  • A copy of the person’s house registration booklet (signed).
  • Medical treatment report.
  • A copy of death certificate.
  • A report of death.
  • A copy of the police report certified by the attending officer

Review Time Period:

  • In case of medical expenses: A report on the result will be provided within 7 working days.
